Music Center of the Northwest is a nonprofit community music school in North Seattle that hosts a robust Music Together® program for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and their caregivers. Mixed-age classes (birth–5) meet weekly for 45 minutes in a bright classroom filled with small percussion instruments and space to move. Parents and children sit in a circle and are guided through singing, tonal and rhythmic patterns, movement games, and playful instrument exploration. The emphasis is on participation and connection rather than performance, grown-ups are asked to sing and move actively so kids can copy them. Each term follows one of the official Music Together song collections, and enrolled families receive a songbook and app access to continue singing at home. The center also offers Rhythm Kids® for older preschoolers, which still invites parent participation but gradually allows children to take more musical leadership, making it a nice bridge as toddlers grow into big kids.
