Music Together Fairhaven offers intimate, community-oriented family music classes in Bellingham’s Fairhaven and downtown neighborhoods. The program is led by a licensed Center Director with strong ties to the Music Together® organization, and its classes welcome babies, toddlers, and preschoolers with their parents or caregivers. Weekly 45-minute sessions are held at BAAY and the Chuckanut Center, two arts-focused spaces that support a friendly, creative atmosphere. In class, adults and children sit in a circle to sing, move, and use simple percussion instruments; the teacher guides families through activities that range from quiet lullabies to energetic “jam sessions” with drums and shakers. The curriculum focuses on helping children develop basic musical competence—singing in tune and keeping a beat—by watching their grown-ups participate enthusiastically. Outside class, families can use the provided songbook, streaming music, and occasional special events (like themed holiday sessions) to keep music going at home and in the community.
